How do I configure Pramati EJB Server using the Console?

Selecting Configure > EJB Server in the Explore panel of the Console displays the screen for configuring Pramati EJB Server.

Information regarding the deployed applications like Name and Transactions is displayed along with the following fields:

Table 1: Configuring Pramati EJB Server

Fields Options Description
Low Activity Interval - Enter here the time for which the pool size is to be kept under observation, and then set for each bean.

The object-level caching size and the number of beans that can be maintained in the pool for reuse is determined by the LAI (minutes). The default time period is set at 60 minutes.

After the specified time, if the actual usage of bean instances is below the minimum pool size, the pool size is automatically reduced to the minimum pool size. This provides an optimized use of bean pool.

Session Timeout - Enter here the time limit after which a session will timeout in case there is no connection established. The default time period is set at 120 minutes.
Min Pool Size - Enter here the minimum number of beans to be retained in the bean pool. The default minimum pool size for Entity, Session, and message driven beans is set as 1000.
- For Entity Beans Enter here the minimum number of beans to be retained in the Entity Beans pool.
- For Session Beans Enter here the minimum number of beans to be retained in the Session Beans pool.
- For MDBs Enter here the minimum number of beans to be retained for MDBs pool.
Max Pool Size - Enter here the maximum number of beans to be retained in the bean pool. The default maximum pool size for Entity, Session, and message driven beans is set as 10000.
- For Entity Beans Enter here the maximum number of beans to be retained in the Entity Beans pool.
- For Session Beans Enter here the maximum number of beans to be retained in the Session Beans pool.
- For MDBs Enter here the maximum number of beans to be retained for MDBs pool.

How do I configure Bean Pools?

To configure the bean pool for a particular EJB Application, select an application name, say OrderApp.jar. This displays the number of beans that are deployed in this archive.

Note: To deploy the OrderApp.jar, you need to define a data source in the Server.

To view the bean details, click the Settings icon. It also provides an option for setting the Maximum Pool Size for the selected bean.
