Two students get travel grants to pursue internship at CMU Human-Computer Interaction Institute
Two students of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad invited for an internship at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) at Carnegie Mellon University were awarded travel grant.
Deepti Aggarwal is a student of IIIT Hyderabad, and is pursuing research in Computer Science Engineering. She has been invited by Carnegie Mellon University for a full-time academic internship in the Human Computer Interaction Institute. She will be provided with hands-on experience in application of gaming to improve the information gained through crowdsourcing. Deepti has published several papers in HCI and has previously received the 'Best and Innovative Design Award' at TechEase
Himanshu Zade is a student of IIIT Hyderabad and is pursuing a Dual Degree (Bachelor of Technology and Masters by Research) in Computer Engineering. He has been invited for a full-time academic internship by Carnegie Mellon University in the Human Computer Interaction Institute during which he will experience the use of investigation and formal specifications in designing user interfaces. Himanshu has published several papers in HCI and has interned at the Innovation lab at CA Technologies and has been a research assistant at Virtual Labs and Pascal lab.

The Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) is an interdisciplinary community of students and faculty at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). This community is dedicated to research and education in topics related to computer technology in support of human activity and society.The idea for HCII at CMU was born in 1967, with the founding of the computer science program here. Founders Allen Newell, Herbert A. Simon, and Alan J. Perlis believed that the new discipline of computer science should include the study of phenomena surrounding computers, not just the theory and design of computation devices themselves.
